Bethlehem - A delegation from the Board of Directors of the Guidance & Training Center for the Child and Family Charity visited Mr. Anton Salman, the new Bethlehem Mayor.

The delegation consisted of Ms. Mariam Samara Awad, President of the Board, and Vice-President Dr. Osama Manasseh and Secretary-General Mr. Samih Salam, and others board members, Mr. Vladmir Kharoufeh, Dr. Degol Hodali and Mr. Ghaleb Ghattas, the Administrative and Financial Director.  The meeting was attended by members of the Municipality; Lucy Thalgieh, Dawood Salah, Samir Abu Diya, and the Director of Public Relations, Culture and Media Ms. Carmen Ghattas.

The visit was to congratulate the mayor on his new role and to explore ways of cooperating jointly to open up new prospects between GTC and the municipality.  

In her speech, Ms. Mariam Samara Awad presented an overview of the Centre's vision and mission of providing high-quality mental health services in Bethlehem area, and Palestine. She also referred to the center's approach to expand the work by construction of a new building on land owned by the GTC, near Khurbit Um Hussien, in Bethlehem, after obtaining funding from donors.

Mr. Anton Salman, in his turn, welcomed the presence of the delegation and expressed the readiness of Bethlehem municipality to cooperate in all areas. Both parties agreed to prepare an awareness-raising workshop to be conducted soon, that would promote employment opportunities and cooperation, which our Palestinian society needs under today's difficult conditions, and to invite local institutions, schools, and ministries to attend.
